Spirited Movement

Retreats for People Living with Chronic Illness and their Caregivers

Spirited Movement Retreats

Since 2009, Spirited Movement has been providing high quality retreats for people living with chronic illness, their families, friends and caregivers.

Our events are welcoming and warm.  The programs offer a wide variety of activities including but not limited to: discussion, worship, guided meditation, tai chi, therapeutic dance, adaptive yoga and chair massage.  Each retreat includes a Resource Room that offers a variety of materials and article reprints about health and caregiving.

Most importantly, our programs provide lots of time for sharing inspiration and support with one another.

Spirited Movement Retreats have been held at Glastonbury Abbey in Hingham, Mass. and the Craigville Conference Center in Craigville, Mass. on Cape Cod.  Retreats are held on a regular basis.  Custom retreats can also be planned for your organization.

Spirited Movement retreats have won rave reviews.  We hope you will join us at one soon!

Spirited Movement's Director is Lindsay McGrath, an interfaith chaplain who has served in Boston and San Francisco Bay Area hospitals for more than a decade.  Lindsay holds a Master of Divinity degree from Boston University School of Theology and is trained in pastoral counseling and spiritual direction.  She has lived with Cervical Dystonia, a chronic neurological condition that effects her neck and shoulders, for more than 15 years.

“My aim is to create a warm, welcoming, safe place where people can come and be who they are and know they are not alone,” says Lindsay.  “Like many others, I have struggled with the isolation illness can bring."

"That experience gave me the inspiration to create Spirited Movement retreats for people living with chronic conditions, their families, friends and caregivers.  I want everyone who comes to have the opportunity to relax, rejuvenate and deepen their connection to God and one another  -- while having some fun, of course!”
